A Partnership Built on Responsibility and Quality

At Maya Soele®, our designs are more than beautiful figures – they are created with care for both people and the planet. That’s why it was important for us to visit our production partner in Vietnam shortly after we began our collaboration.
The company, originally founded as a Danida project, is family-owned and now run by the next generation. The founder still stops by every day to greet employees – a gesture that reflects the respect for craftsmanship and personal relationships that runs through the entire organisation.
Our visit confirmed what we already knew: working conditions here are excellent. Beyond a safe and well-organised workplace, employees enjoy high-quality meals in the canteen, shared breaks, a fruit garden, relaxing spaces, and even a swimming pool available for everyone. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of pride in their work.
The production is BSCI-certified (Business Social Compliance Initiative), ensuring compliance with internationally recognised standards for social responsibility – including fair wages, reasonable working hours, safe conditions, and a strict ban on child and forced labour.
Sustainability is deeply integrated into the operations. The wood is treated without harmful chemicals, wastewater is purified and reused, and no timber is wasted – all offcuts are sorted and repurposed for new productions.
Seeing our own figures take shape in FSC®-certified wood – from raw planks to the finished bases – was a special moment. It wasn’t just the start of production; it was the realisation of a vision: combining timeless Scandinavian design with responsible, global craftsmanship.
