TRENDZONE BY STUDIE FLYHELSTED

The Trend Zone is called VÆRKET and is about contrasts and the meeting between people. The meeting between the handmade and the industrial, between global climate awareness and local and close relations. Between artistic capacity and storytelling in products that move us and create experiences in everyday life. Products creating jobs that are a part of the sustainable network and hopefully are locally produced.
The Maker Movement is developing with a crowd of designers, inventors and craftsmen who invent products balancing on creativity, quality and meaning. Fast fashion, slow art, soft technology and hard politics. The contrasts are queued but complements now to a degree each other in a still more varied consumer image. Art has come at eye level and companies cooperate with artists about smaller collections which bring the products vibe, edge and texture.
The 100 years anniversary of Bauhaus - If any, the trendsetting German design school disrupted the time-spirit with their demands for simple, functional furniture and cleaning friendly interior as a counterweight to the dark tassel style. Design should, then as now, make a difference, and the slogan 'form follows function' linked with a far-sightet humanistic view has positioned Bauhaus as a major and permanent source of inspiration in both form and materials.
The simple, industrial expression is also significant in today's materials covering aluminium, steel, glas, acrylic glas and building stones of glas as well as round shapes, soft surfaces and rough textiles. The contrast are again present und underlines the tension between shiny and dull, smooth and grooved, light and dark, round and squared, hard and soft.
Welcome to 'VÆRKET'. Our suggestion to industriel order and artistic chaos.
