Danish design meets Nepali craft – a creative collaboration with Helle Limkilde

In LAYA’s latest dhaka collection, handwoven textiles from Nepal meet a touch of Nordic minimalism.

To highlight the handmade essence, we collaborated with Danish jewellery designer Helle Limkilde, who created a unique charm for each pouch and clutch. Made from antique glass and conch beads sourced in the Himalayas, the charm bridges design, storytelling and soul.

“It felt like adding an amulet — something intimate and honest,” Helle says.

LAYA Copenhagen is a design brand made for women who know what they want.
The collection is built from cashmere, dhaka textile, silk, and handwoven natural fibres — materials with character that carry the mark of the people behind them. Each piece is created in collaboration with Nepalese artisans, whose skill and culture are visible in every meter and every fold.
LAYA presents Nepal as it is: a source of extraordinary craftsmanship, living culture, and women with pride in their hands.
Design over decoration. Substance over noise.
