Ugly Duckli

Ugly Duckli brings the Danish tradition of woven Christmas hearts to life through original Danish design, creativity and storytelling.
Ugly Duckli's story goes back more than 20 years. In 2003, Ugly Duckli received the Formland Prize, an important early recognition of our design and creative universe.
Since then, woven Christmas hearts have remained at the heart of Ugly Duckli. The woven paper heart is a small piece of Danish cultural heritage, made by generations of families around kitchen tables, in schools and during the Christmas season. At Ugly Duckli, the tradition continues through original designs, DIY products, inspiration and personal experiences.
Created by Rikke, Ugly Duckli is a personal universe shaped by a love of Danish design, Hans Christian Andersen, Christmas traditions and the simple pleasure of making something by hand.
At uglyduckli.com you can discover Danish Christmas hearts, inspiration, free weaving guides and Ugly Duckli's Private Paper Heart Experience in Copenhagen.

Rikke

CEO & Founder

Rikke is one of the few female entrepreneurs in Denmark who genuinely paves the way and inspires us with how we challenge ourselves and our society on a grand scale. She has given lectures, for example, invited by TED in Rome and as a substitute for Connie Hedegaard as a morning speaker at Aarhus University. Her general message is: WHAT can we all do to make a difference? HOW can we, step by step, influence the world around us in a better direction?! With a background from A.P. Moller, operational responsibility for Maersk Line in South America, and 18 years abroad, she has lived and worked in Denmark in recent years. Here, she is now a key person in creating opportunities for easier access to healing plants for many, such as those with chronic pain. Ethical and proper. Always.
