At LAYA, we breathe new life into traditional saris once worn by women across Nepal. These richly coloured fabrics, full of personal stories, are carefully selected and transformed into meaningful accessories — pouches, scrunchies, bags and more.

Each piece is sewn by women in Kathmandu through social enterprises that empower them with skills and economic independence. No two items are the same — each one is a fragment of a past life, reimagined for a conscious future.

LAYA is a Danish design brand rooted in Nepal with a deep commitment to aesthetics, responsibility, and craft. We create accessories using sustainable materials such as upcycled saris, handwoven dhaka fabrics, and durable, traditionally woven cottons.

All products are handmade in Nepal by women from marginalized communities who gain skills, income, and independence through the work.
