It all started with pottery. Jonathan first gave the wheel a spin at summer camp when he was 12 years old and was obsessed with clay the moment he touched it. In 1993, Barneys bought his collection of pots and then Jonathan went on to open his first store in SoHo in 1998. Today kaffepuden.dk has more than 10 unique products, all made here in Denmark looking at the individual coffee bag and its print. Laesoe Uldstue is owned by my wife and I and is based on Laesoe, a small island in Kattegat, between Denmark and Sweden.
I am a former co-owner of Silkeborg Uldspinderi, which was then family-owned. In 2018, Anette and I bought Laesoe Uldstue. For many years, Silkeborg Uldspinderi Spinnery was a supplier to Laesoe Uldstuel of, among other things, plaids and duvets, so we had knowledge of products in Laessoe Uldstue, and a desire to try living on an island.
We have wanted to exhibit at fairs in Denmark for a long time, but due to the pandemic and crisis, it is only now in 2023 that we will finally attend a fair.
