LUX - Blue ocean

LUX is a candle holder for tea lights with a sculptural look, made out of 100% washed up plastic waste from the Danish West Coast, collected by Strandet and produced locally.

Inspired by the waves of the ocean, which are unpredictable just like the marble-like texture, that is created in
the molding process.

I fits both 4, 6 and 8 hour tea lights,
electric tea lights and is made of
recycled HDPE plastic, thus recyclable.

LUX is a tealight holder made from 100% washed-up ocean plastic from the Danish West Coast. This recycled ocean plastic emits 94% less CO2 than new plastic. The unique marble-like structure, inspired by the ocean’s waves, is created during the casting process. LUX comes in two different heights which together create a beautiful sense of unity.

The candle holders are available in a wide variety of color combinations. The colors of the collected plastic waste determine the colors we can combine and transform into LUX. No additional color pigments are added. Additionally, small, unique color changes may occur, serving as a reminder of its previous life, such as the text on an old fish box.

The ocean plastic used to create the tealight holders is made of 100% recycled HDPE plastic, meaning LUX can be remelted and recycled.

LUX candle holders fit 4, 6, and 8-hour tealights, as well as electric lights. When purchasing a set of LUX, you receive two tealights, which are Swan-labeled, made from 100% neutral rapeseed oil wax, and with the cup made from 100% recycled plastic.
