When we needed to find frames that fit our Poster Cards (congratulatory cards), we knew they shouldn't be just any frames.
They had to be made from recycled wood and preferably produced in a place that made a difference in society.
After a good dialogue with founder and CEO Christian Helweg, we had no doubt. Råt&Godt in Aalborg would supply our frames.
All frames are made from recycled oak wood and MDF.
The skilled young individuals who handcrafted all the frames are not trained carpenters or joiners, making no two frames identical. Not all joints are perfect, making each frame unique.
It's precisely these imperfections and the fact that the wood is recycled that make us love these frames. Each frame is a clear example of a young person practicing and improving their craft, frame by frame.
Enjoy the diversity in your frame and celebrate the skilled young person for making an effort and learning something new.
Who is Råt&Godt?
Råt&Godt is a socially responsible and sustainable company that offers employment programs in a realistic working environment with creative settings. Their primary purpose is to help individuals facing challenges beyond unemployment find meaningful employment. Råt&Godt assesses education and job opportunities in a comprehensive employment program with individual pedagogical support and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The program consists of three phases outlined in Råt&Godt's AFA plan: Clarification, Immersion and development, and Conclusion.
The AFA plan forms the basis for the method and is developed by Christian Helweg, founder and leader of Råt&Godt. It is based on Råt&Godt's experiences with initiatives supporting young individuals on the edge of the job market in transitioning into meaningful employment.
Råt&Godt's offerings cater to individuals interested in both craft, creative, and service-oriented fields, consisting of different departments that produce furniture, interior designs, undertake decorating tasks, and carry out carpentry and joinery assignments.
All of Råt&Godt's products and projects are made from recycled materials in collaboration with individuals in their programs who, for various reasons, do not thrive in conventional work or educational programs. Råt&Godt also has a recycled building materials market that sells materials to businesses and individuals.
Råt&Godt's business model is inherently socially and environmentally sustainable. All their activities and processes aim to promote social, economic, and environmental sustainability, naturally contributing to most of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
Through partnerships with a wide range of educational institutions, responsible private companies and organizations, as well as municipalities, Råt&Godt helps individuals on the edge of the job market find employment and promotes the reuse of good materials.
