Practical examples of magnetic field measurements in
industrial and environmental surroundings

FA-110 measurement and analysis system
for magnetic fields

-Complete system with standard measuring probe, data acquisition box, software and PC (optional)

-Complete recording of the field strengths in the frequency range 1 Hz to 400 kHz accordingly
the most important national and international standards (e.g. ICNIRP, BGV B11)

-High resolution data acquisition and raw data storage
M-STREAM software for transparent data analysis

-Open system, own limit values can be entered by the user

-One measuring device for all standards and norms

Low frequency magnetic fields

Magnetic fields are created by moving electrical charges, e.g. B. Electrons in electrical conductors,
or by subatomic motions in ferromagnetic materials. Although low-frequency magnetic fields compared to higher-frequency or pulsed magnetic fields are classified as less dangerous, are larger field strengths potentially dangerous, both for “the human system” as well as for technical systems. Examples of the occurrence of magnetic Fields are household appliances (hair dryer, induction cookers), industrial systems (welding machines, inductive heating, direct current lines in the chemical industry), Energy supply and public transport (overhead lines, underground cables, overhead lines), medical devices (nuclear spin tomographs) or scientific ones Devices (spectroscopes, accelerators, etc.).

The permissible exposure of the public and of workers by low-frequency magnetic fields is in national and international guidelines or regulations set. For Germany applies in general the 26th BImschV (regulation for the implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act) and BGV B11 (Professional association regulations for safety and health at work). International guidelines are the ICNIRP publications (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection). It is the responsibility of the manufacturers of devices or Operators of systems, the limit values specified therein
to comply with Measurement and software concept.

The MFA-110 can do magnetic fields in one wide frequency and amplitude range without gaps
capture. The field signals are lines in the 3 spatial direction, z. B. with a standard 100 cm² measuring probe or individual measuring probes. The measurement signals are amplified in the data acquisition box and on the hard drive of the connected computer stored for further processing. The temporal Resolution depends on the selected sample rate and the detection time and enables more reliable detection also from narrow-band interference fields in the higher frequency range. Buffer monitoring ensures that the processor performance of the PC is sufficient.

The M-STREAM software analyzes and processes
the raw data using discrete Fourier transform
for displaying the frequency-dependent amplitude values. A comparison with various national and
international standards and guidelines is implemented.

Other, also customer-specific, specifications or
Limit values can be easily stored.

The raw data and the evaluated data are in TDMS format and can be in ASCII or MS EXCEL be exported for further processing.
