At MERANNI Jewellery Denmark, sustainability is a natural and essential part of how we create our jewellery.
We work exclusively with 100% recycled 925 sterling silver, meaning we do not contribute to mining or its harmful impact on people and the planet. Traditional mining is one of the world’s most polluting industries, often associated with poor working conditions, high carbon emissions, and the destruction of ecosystems. By using recycled precious metals, we actively choose to do things differently.
We have also chosen the French 18k gold vermeil technique because it combines durability and luxury without overusing resources. Our plating is five times thicker than standard gold plating, ensuring long-lasting wear and a beautifully rich finish. This means our jewellery is made to endure, resist everyday wear, and retain its shine over time.
Our zirconia stones are of the highest quality — carefully selected for their ethical sourcing, exceptional brilliance, and respect for both people and the environment. We produce in small, controlled batches and work only with suppliers who share our values of responsibility, quality, and transparency.
Why does this matter?
The jewellery industry has long been driven by fleeting trends, low quality, and mass production. Fast fashion jewellery is typically made to last only a short while, with little consideration for environmental impact or labour conditions. These pieces quickly lose their value — both aesthetically and functionally — and far too often end up discarded after only a few uses. This contributes to enormous resource waste and a culture where consumption overshadows conscious choice.
