Sjælsø Launches New Furniture Collection in Reclaimed Teak Wood
Sjælsø Living is proud to introduce our latest furniture collection, which will debut at Formland. This series is crafted from reclaimed and aged teak wood, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and recycling.
Timeless Design with Character
The new collection features a classic, timeless design that harmonizes aesthetics and functionality while staying true to our passion for repurposing old wood.
The series includes tables, benches, stools, wall racks etc., all combining the warmth of aged wood with an elegant lightness, highlighted by slender iron legs.
The furniture is available in various finishes – from warm brown tones to weathered or blackened surfaces – and is designed with a practical knock-down system, making it easy to assemble and convenient for storage.
Sustainability: The Story Behind Our New Collection
For this series, we exclusively use reclaimed teak wood sourced carefully from selected suppliers. Each piece of wood is adjusted and refined to ensure it fits seamlessly into our furniture production. The result is a collection that celebrates the history of the material while contributing to a more sustainable future.
A Unique Partnership
Our new Indian partner is a family-owned business with nearly 20 years of experience in furniture manufacturing. They specialize in creating sustainable furniture from reclaimed teak wood.
A standout feature of our supplier is their decision to base their production in small Indian villages instead of bustling urban areas. This allows their skilled craftsmen to work close to their homes and families, fostering greater job satisfaction, stability, and a production process that benefits the local community.
A Unique Story with a Sustainable Profile
With this collection, you get more than just a piece of furniture – you acquire a product with a story rooted in sustainability. Teak is one of the world’s most exclusive wood types, and through recycling, we give it a new life. Each piece is unique, with natural variations, yet maintains consistency in shape, size, and style. This creates a perfect balance between uniqueness and timelessness in every item.
