Inversum bench collection – sculptural benches in concrete and wood
arrow_backTo the overview25 November 2025 | INVERSUM
The Inversum bench line explores the boundary between furniture and sculpture – between raw concrete and warm wood. Instead of filling the room, the bench steps slightly back and creates a quiet focal point where the eye can come to rest. The forms are simple and precise, but with small variations in the concrete surface and the wood grain that make each bench its own.
What all Inversum benches share is the balance between weight and lightness. The solid body of the concrete provides sculptural calm, while the wood adds tactile warmth and a human scale. The lines are clean, the proportions calm, with no superfluous details – everything unnecessary has been pared away, leaving a form that can both stand on its own and integrate naturally into Nordic interiors.
The inspiration is drawn from the rhythms and materials of nature: from the horizon, from the weight of the earth, from the light that moves across a surface throughout the day. This is why the bench works just as well in a hallway or living room as in a gallery or a quiet corner of a public building. It does not invite quick moments, but slow pauses – a place to put down your keys, your thoughts, or the impressions of the day.
Each Inversum bench carries a concrete story within it: it is drawn, cast, and refined by Edvinas’ own hands. The traces of his choices – in the form, the joints, the edges and transitions – are woven into the object without calling for attention. In this way, the bench becomes more than a piece of furniture: it is a quiet witness in the room, a discreet story about craftsmanship, time and presence that slowly unfolds for those who live with it.
