The interior and design fair Formland has been a meeting place for the design industry since 1984. This is where inspiration is shared, networks are formed, deals are made and visitors learn about new products and current trends. The next trade fair takes place on 16-19 August 2018.
What is the new black? This is the answer that buyers, stylists, exhibitors and designers from all over the world will be looking for when they visit the Danish interior and design fair Formland, held every six months in MCH Messecenter Herning. All these people share a love for interior and design and a passion for the latest trends - especially in Danish and Nordic design, which is currently a big hit on the international scene.
Formland is held every February and August and attracts around 12,500 visitors from more than 5,500 stores in around 38 countries. As Denmark's largest design fair, for the last 34 years Formland has been bringing together the biggest names in the design industry and putting the spotlight on hundreds of new products and current and future trends. Exhibitors are distributed across the entire 10 halls, where visitors can trade, network, and gather inspiration.
Inspiring trend zones and compelling presentations
Whether you want to learn more about forthcoming trends and colours or get a preview of what's new for 2019/2020, Formland's programme of activities is bursting with inspiration and surprises. Formland's innovative trend zones are particularly worth a visit. Full of inspiring settings and Danish 'hygge', they stand out from other industry trade fairs, both in form and content. This is where some of the country's leading trend experts, such as Mads Arlien-Søborg, the design duo FLYHELSTED and Atelier Cph, present the season's current trends and phenomena.
Formland's presentation stage also offers visitors a wealth of inspiring and valuable information from the sharpest minds in the industry. International presenters include the Swedish trend expert Stefan Nilsson (Trendstefan) and the award-winning American blogger and author Holly Becker (decor8), who were both previous guests at Formland and who will once again be presenting at the fair in August. Holly Becker was particularly impressed and surprised when she visited Formland Spring 2018:
"It had, by far, one of the best trend presentations that I have ever seen at a fair. What I did not expect was that a smaller, more focused fair like Formland would provide such an incredible opportunity to meet great people. I really connected with people - exhibitors, magazine editors, sales agents, trend experts, all of them. Will I go back to this fair? Absolutely! I loved their new format, how they have taken the fair to new heights. The fair was inspiring and fresh," Holly wrote in her blog.
Trends and talent
As the industry's meeting place, Formland attracts well-known representatives of Danish design, including Royal Copenhagen, Stelton, Georg Jensen and Louis Poulsen. Talent, quality and entrepreneurship are also in focus in the CREATORS COMMUNITY area, where Formland presents emerging brands and pays tribute to the most talented entrepreneurs in Northern Europe.
"Danish and Nordic design is extremely popular, and we're proud to be able to gather the entire Danish interior and design industry - both old and new - in one place. We're delighted that a whole 38 countries are visiting Formland, and that we can offer both Danish and international visitors such an inspiring experience," says Mai-Britt Risvig Flyvholm, project manager at Formland.
The 69th edition of the interior and design fair Formland Autumn 2018 takes place 16-19 August 2018 in MCH Messecenter Herning.
