Product- and design description
Welcome to MicMic.
At MicMic you will find high quality leather. All styles are designed in a harmonious combination of a Nordic expression, leather from warmer areas and consideration for the local areas in which they are sewn.
In the range you will find: shoulder bags, crossover bags, belt bags, purses, computer sleeves, clutches and key chains.
MicMic's designs are feminine with a rustic touch. The products are used by a wide range of personalities and target groups – from the younger student to the career woman and the pensioner.
What they have in common is that they are conscious consumers who want long-lasting, timeless accessories as permanent items in the closet.
They are created for the people who recognize the value of quality, functionality and the story behind it.
The inspiration mainly comes from my own life. It comes from the many amazing journeys I have been on, from the cool people I have met along the way, from the different cultures I have come across and not least from my very ordinary everyday life and my own needs.

MicMic - The Concept
My name is Michala – and I'm the designer behind MicMic.
I am 26 years old and one of the few lucky Danes to have experienced Cambodia at first-hand, as I was raised in the developing country.
Cambodia is a fantastic country, though also characterized by a historically dark period: first as a French colony and following under the rule of the Khmer Rouge. From being one of Asia's most powerful empires, Cambodia is today one of the poorest, most corrupt and most landmine-heavy countries in Asia. The past has prevented development and reconstruction. It has led to an unstable country with a big difference between rich and poor, the majority of which is unfortunately the latter. I have experienced poverty, mining areas and corruption myself.
Although my upbringing was unconventional, it was enlightening and most importantly incredibly rewarding. It taught me to recognize and appreciate how privileged we are in Denmark, and not least, always to be open towards other cultures, people and ideas!
Therefore, when I founded MicMic, it was natural for me to make a company which took a great amount of social responsibility. A company that should give back to the communities, that do not have the same opportunities as we have in Denmark.
MicMic's vision is to live in a world where sustainable products are created and helps to overcome inequality and poverty through education, creativity and a meaningful job.
Therefore MicMic has made an effort in finding responsible suppliers as well as socially sustainable projects.

This year we have started to collaborate with workshops in Ethiopia. With the projects in Ethiopia we have the opportunity of making a small difference in a country characterized by imbalance and a lack of both education and work. The country possesses leather that can compete with the highest quality worldwide – that is why I saw a great opportunity in a collaboration.
MicMic currently corporates with a workshop that employs vulnerable people such as former abusers or sex workers – without the help from this workshop, these people would be left with very limited opportunities and resources. The goal is to empower vulnerable people by offering an education and a good job with a stable income.
In addition, MicMic collaborates with another workshop that supports vulnerable girls' education. The resources provided ensure that the girls have the necessary materials and uniforms to attend school. Without these, and also the support from the owner of the workshop, the girls would not have gone to school. By supporting this workshop, MicMic can help ensure a more equal society through education and increased opportunities for girls.
Look by MicMic and hear everything from why other companies often seek for more established countries like China, Italy and Portugal to MicMic's journey and the thoughts behind the products.
I look forward to seeing you!
