New Note - new hall with interior products, furniture, lighting and home textiles

Ground-breaking design in focus at Formland
The most outstanding examples of ground-breaking design will be in focus when Formland opens its doors in August. The main new example here is New Note – a completely new area with 30 specially selected designers and visionary companies, which represent the most ground-breaking design on a high international level. The area presents hand-picked exhibitors from the world of interior products, lighting, furniture and home textiles. The aim is for New Note to be recurring part of the Formland fairs.
- We will create a gathering point for the top innovative designers within ground-breaking international design. Formland is already the leading gathering point for Scandinavian design in general. New Note should make Formland even more visible internationally, says Head of Projects Lars Jespersen, and continues:
- At the same time, New Note reflects a clear tendency within the market – towards an increase in concept stores, which sell furniture, interior products and lighting of high design quality.

30 designers made it through the eye of the needle
New Note has been created in cooperation with trend consultant and journalist for e.g. Bo Bedre (a Danish magazine for Home and Living), Mads Arlien-Søborg. He is the New Note’s curator and decides who meets the exhibition requirements. The criteria for New Note are that the designers must present ground-breaking design, which is markedly different – and which is on a high international level:
- There has been a lot of pressure and many designers and companies are in the mix for New Note. This time I have hand-picked 30 exhibitors who have made it through the eye of the needle. Each time I assess who is qualified to exhibit here, so we are sure that we always have the most outstanding examples of ground-breaking design, says trend consultant Mads Arlien-Søborg.

Muuto and HAY amongst the chosen
Among the 30 selected for New Note are 20 completely new exhibitors at Formland – including Italian Magis, Add Interior and the up and coming name Muuto: - We are very proud to be specially selected for the exhibition. We focus on Scandinavian design and it is therefore a great pat on the back to be chosen as one of the market’s leading and ground-breaking design stores, says director Kristian Byrge, Muuto.

Around 10 current exhibitors at Formland have also managed to get through the eye of the needle – among them Normann Copenhagen and HAY: - We are very honoured that we have been selected. We primarily come to Formland to meet buyers and do business. Being chosen for New Note is a stamp of approval, which we can especially use when it comes to new customers, says Rolf Hay, co-owner of HAY.

Wildcard for young new talents
New Note’s curator Mads Arlien-Søborg will, in addition to the international, trend-setting designers and companies, also make room for promising new talents.
- New Note does not only focus on ground-breaking design; it also focuses on sensational new talents. That is why we distribute a wildcard to a talented upcoming designer each time, says Mads Arlien-Søborg.
