VERNISSAGE 17. AUGUST 2017
Individuality is an important element for the consumer - everyone wishes to be individual. The personal choice of elements are in focus, when we curate and hand-pick objects, that we care about, for our own gallery - our home. For each of us, it is of great value when we are surrounded with elements that we care about. It radiates your personality when you stay true to your own unique taste.
The retail business must meet with this demand and attract the consumer by curating objects themselves and clearing the way for the unique. The consumer has to be able to trust in the individual style and selected range of her/his retailer. You have to pay attention to all senses, and art, design and craftmanship are important elements when convincing and satisfying the consumer's needs for 'that special thing'.
... is an exhibition in Hall D where design and art fuse. Every element is carefully selected, considered and worthy to be part of the exhibition. Small saloons demonstrate how simplicity can be combined with the pompously and how elements can be functional. Pure colours are mixed with patterns and Trompe l'oeil. Unique vintage, art and products from 'up and coming' designers are combined with more accessible products and lift them up to an exquisite universe - just where a brand new whole arise that for sure will tempt the modern consumer.
... allows to 'steal' the very best of all styles to achieve a new correlation. The visitors are challenged to make up their mind about personal selections. The reailer/eclectics are encouraged to curate, hand-pick and combine elements that have no obvious correlation at first sight. To focus on styles, trends and art that they are attracted to - without showing consideration for trends, standards and prejudices.
... proves that colours, scents and other sensory perceptions also are of great importance as fragments. Think hiphop and DJ where little bites of sound, scratch and breaks make a new creation together with verses. Think cubism where geometrical shapes and African art fuse. Every object in the gallery has been carefully curated as it contains a story and because it can add an artistic element in the modern way of interior decoration. Design your shop as an art exhibition that radiate an edgy and refined authentic gallery atmosphere.

"There is a difference between having things you care about, and just having things you consume.
The former have more meaning and they last longer.
It is a mind shift, however. It is about moving away from a world of preferences to a world of active choices – that you are engaged in".
Ilse Crawfort for Viewpoint Mission Statement
"No matter who you are in this industry,
inside there is a pure artist
who wants to step away from everything commercial and indulge in an exercise of self-expression"
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions derived from anywhere: from the sky, from the earth, from a piece of paper, from a passing figure, from a spider’s web. This is a spider’s web. This is why one must not make a distinction between things. For them there are no aristocratic quarterings. One must take things where one finds them".
